40 years of ÖFSE

On 15 July 2007 ÖFSE's 40th anniversary was celebrated at the Austrian National Library. Among the guests were EU Commissioner Dr. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, President of the Austrian National Council Ms. Barbara Prammer and Dr. Hans Winkler, State Secretary in charge of development cooperation at the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

In addition, the chairpersons of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Klaus Zapotoczky and Dr. Andreas Novy, also welcomed numerous representatives of public and private development cooperation institutions and universities.

On the occasion of the anniversary ÖFSE's new name “Austrian Research Foundation for International Development” (“Österreichische Forschungsstiftung für Internationale Entwicklung”) was presented.

In addition, a publication consisting of a retrospective on the history of the foundation, which was founded in 1967, and the annual report for 2006 were published to mark ÖFSE's 40th anniversary.
