Contact Committee for the Support of Students from Third World Countries
(Kontaktkomitee Studienförderung Dritte Welt – KKS)
The Contact Committee is a joint platform for discussion, opinion making, and action of all institutions and organisations dealing with student funding and educational cooperation in Austria.
Coordination Office for International Development and Mission of the Austrian Bishops' Conference (Koordinierungsstelle der Österreichischen Bischofskonferenz für internationale Entwicklung und Mission – KOO)
The Coordination Office is a specialised institution of the Austrian Bishops' Conference with 24 member organisations as well as missionary orders for men and women. These member organisations promote cooperation for development and pastoral cooperation and provide emergency relief and rehabilitation in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Department of Development Studies (Institut für Internationale Entwicklung)
The International Development Project emerged from an initiative taken by the Austrian National Union of Students in the late 1970ies. The objective was to intensify the focus on developing countries and the relations between industrialised countries and the countries of “the South” at Austrian colleges and universities.
In the academic year 2002/03 the subject “International Development” became a separate field of study at the University of Vienna.
Global Responsibility (Globale Verantwortung)
This umbrella organisation is the joint successor organisation of the Working Group on Development Cooperation (AGEZ) and the Austrian EU-Platform of Non-Governmental Development Organisations and represents, both on a national and an international level, the interests of Austrian non-governmental organisations active in the fields of development cooperation, development policy public awareness at home, humanitarian aid, and sustainable global economic, social, and ecological development.
Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Non-profit Organisations at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration - NPO Institute (Institut für interdisziplinäre Nonprofit Forschung an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien - NPO-Institut)
The Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Non-profit Organisations (NPO Institute) is an association which promotes the dialogue between research and practical experience and cooperates very closely with the Research Institute for Non-profit Organisations and the Working Group for Non-profit Management.
Mattersburg Circle for Development Politics at Austrian Universities (Mattersburger Kreis für Entwicklungspolitik an den österreichischen Universitäten)
The Mattersburg Circle is an association of teachers from various Austrian universities who are interested in development policy. Their objective is to improve the way in which issues of international development are presented at Austrian universities.
Paulo Freire Centre (Paulo Freire Zentrum)
The Paulo Freire Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Research and Dialogical Education offers space for the reflection of political practice. It considers practice (action and reflection) in research – education – politics as part of a process which ultimately aims at the abolition of oppression. The Freire Centre was initiated and made possible in 2004 by a cooperation of ÖFSE and the Mattersburg Circle. Since 2009 the Freire Centre has been part of KommEnt GmbH.
Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation (Wiener Institut für internationalen Dialog und Zusammenarbeit – VIDC)
The main political focus of the VIDC is to enhance a critical public debate on issues related to colonialism and racism and to establish an international dialogue based on equality and respect.

ADEA is a network of African ministers of education, development agencies, education and training experts and researchers, and non-governmental organisations active in this field.
Eldis-The Gateway to Development Information
Eldis offers a collection of metadata and documents, most of which are available as full-text publications. Eldis uses a country- and topic-specific approach. Most of the information is available in English.
European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes - EADI
EADI is a European umbrella organisation of development organisations and researchers aiming at interdisciplinary cooperation in European development research.
Europe's Forum on International Cooperation
EUFORIC is an independent Internet forum for discussing and exchanging current information about European development cooperation.
European Network on Debt and Development - EURODAD
EURODAD is a network of 55 European non-governmental development organisations that work on the creation of national and international economic and financial policies with a focus on poverty reduction.
German Development Institute (Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik - DIE)
The German Development Institute is one of the world's leading research institutes and think tanks for global development and international development policy issues. It focuses on cooperation with partner institutions from all over the world in high-performance research networks.

The German Evaluation Society addresses itself to everyone dealing with evaluations. Its objectives include offering a platform for interdisciplinary and interprofessional exchange.

INEF is a research institute and combines basic research with applied research and policy advice on issues like global governance and human security, fragile states, crisis prevention, and civilian conflict management, as well as development, human rights, and corporate social responsibility.

IWGE is an informal group of national and international development cooperation institutions, experts, and specialised organisations working in this field.
Network for Policy Review Research and Advice on Education and Training
NORRAG is a network of individuals and organisations dealing with development issues in the framework of university and non-university research of NGOs and agencies.
OECD Development Centre
The OECD Development Centre was founded by the OECD in 1962 and sees itself as an interface between the OECD Member States and the emerging economies in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It promotes comparative research and an informal dialogue with politicians regarding social and economic development issues.
Working Group for International Cooperation in Skills Development
IWGSD is an informal group of national and multi-national development agencies dealing with education and training issues regarding developing countries and cooperation between industrialised and developing countries in this field.
World Economy, Ecology & Development
WEED is an independent non-governmental organisation headquartered in Berlin. Since 1990 WEED has been systematically analysing issues relating to the global economy, ecology, and development policy. Core issues include debt, trade policy, and multi-lateral institutions.
