Approaches and strategies for poverty reduction and sustainable development

Besides the pursuance of international developments and debates, the Science & Research section also focuses its activity on the topic of poverty reduction.

Since the launch of the PRSP (Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers) Initiative in 2000, the section has been continuously dealing with the topic of PRSP as an approach and strategy to reduce poverty. The team focuses primarily on the situation in the selected partner countries of the Austrian Development Cooperation in order to increase the relevance of its work within the framework of Austrian development cooperation.

Moreover, the topic “approaches and strategies for poverty reduction and sustainable development” has become an integral part of all topic-related work focuses dealt with by the Science & Research section. Special attention is paid to this topic when dealing with the individual priority topics.
