Lukas Schlogl is a social scientist and has been a Senior Researcher at OeFSE since August 2022. His research focuses on Austrian and European development policy and development finance. Drawing on this work, he advises policymakers, public institutions and civil society organisations.

His work examines how development policy is designed, financed and implemented. His particular interests include the allocation of development funding, coordination across policy areas, the use of evidence in policymaking, and public attitudes towards development spending.

His current research addresses the role of European economic interests in development cooperation, results-oriented approaches, and the role of public and private development and export finance in supporting sustainable development. His earlier research explored technological change, structural transformation and inequality, as well as digitalisation and politics.
