Stakeholder participation, process design and facilitation
The need for a comprehensive socio-ecological transformation poses complex challenges for politics and science. New ways of producing knowledge are needed that allow the expertise of political actors and researchers to interact with the knowledge and experiences of different social groups.
In this context, ÖFSE deals theoretically and practically with the topic of stakeholder participation in the context of international and sustainable development. We bring together interest groups to explore and visualise different perspectives and visions. The aim is to gain new scientific insights and develop innovative solutions for policy-making.
We design participatory processes and innovative dialogue and vision formats that focus on mutual listening, trust and creativity. In these processes, all participants are seen as learners: Development organisations and researchers get to know the perspectives of stakeholders and can thus sharpen questions and problems. At the same time, stakeholders actively shape processes in the spirit of global and active citizenship and contribute their knowledge and positions. Possible solutions are developed and researched in an interactive process.
ÖFSE's activities in this area include the design and practical implementation of stakeholder participation in research projects. On the other hand, ÖFSE organises and facilitates participatory processes and events.
